The third annual Run For God group will meet Tuesdays at 6:30 for 12 weeks leading up to the 5K. It includes bible study, coaching from experienced runners, professional speakers and more. Run For God is for both first time runners and lifelong runners. It’s a fun way to get in shape.
WHAT IS RUN FOR GOD?
Run for God’s 5K Challenge is a 12-week program that allows both new and experienced runners to combine faith and endurance training in a way that helps take people, even those who have never run, through their first 5K.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Anyone regardless of fitness level is invited to attend our weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 6:30. Each meeting will include bible study, coaching from experienced runners, professional speakers and optional walk/run after meeting.
For new and “out of shape” runners: We run as a group after a short presentation. It starts with mostly walking and short moments of running, then each week it gradually increases the running until you can do a 5K by the end of the 12 weeks. It’s very doable for almost any fitness level.
For experienced runners: Those who are already in shape are also encouraged to attend, learn from guest speakers and inspire others. A separate group of “in shape” runners can run at their own pace on the course in the highlands.
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US?
It is a great way to learn about running, get in shape, prepare to run/walk the 5K at Witness Through Fitness, make new friends, learn from professionals, grow in your faith, and have some fun!
